Al Rawas Readymix

The company started its operations in November 2007 and is engaged in the manufacture of crushed stone and washed sand of which the majority is for its own use in the production of readymix concrete (RMC), modular blocks, kerbstone. It is one of the leading suppliers of RMC products in the Salalah region.
In 2013, it merged two of the group companies with itself, namely, Al Rawas Cement Products LLC (manufacturing and sale of cement blocks and kerbstones) and Al Ahqaf Ltd. Mining Co. LLC (engaged in manufacture and sale of crusher material and sand).
Crushed materials and washed sand production involves procuring the raw materials from own sources and wadis in the form of stones. The raw materials are then transported to the crushing plant to produce different sizes of aggregates and sand (products). The sand is washed to remove the clay/dust. The product is loaded on tipper trucks and delivered to the company’s batching plants and to its customer’s. The crusher plant is equipped with excavators, shovels, crushers, conveyors, screens, grinders, washing plant and automatic weighing system.
RMC production involves mixing of cement with water, sand, coarse aggregates and chemicals to obtain the desired specifications as per customer’s requirements. The RMC is loaded into transit mixer trucks, which deliver directly to customer’s construction site. These transit mixers contain blades that churn the concrete during transportation to keep it active. At the site, the RMC is pumped by mechanical pumps, directly to the point of use. The batching plant is equipment with silos, water chiller, hoppers, conveyors, automatic weighing system and mixing drums.
Modular blocks and kerbstone production involves the mixing of cement with water, sand and coarse aggregates to obtain the desired properties. The resulting mixture is then transferred from the batching plant to different types and sizes of moulds and after compaction shifted for curing. After curing, the blocks are kept in the yard as final product, which are then delivered directly to customers. The block and kerbstone plant equipment includes silos, hoppers, conveyors, automatic weighing system, mixing drums, moulds, pallets, vibrating tables and curing rooms.
In order to maintain a high quality product the batching plant has its own laboratory that systematically tests each batch of RMC prepared for customers and for the production of blocks and kerbstones.
The market for RMC as well as blocks and kerbstones has grown significantly over the past years, and the outlook continues to remain positive particularly in the Salalah area. Future growth is expected to come from four main areas through continued government investments:

  • Infrastructure:

  • Housing:

  • Roads; and

  • Tourism projects
